Stay

I’m not really one to share pieces from stories I’m writing as I’m writing them, but for NaNoWriMo, the novel I’m writing contains some songs in it. I really liked this one, so I’m sharing it! Technically, the main character writes it about the girl he fell for, not me. :p I really need a guy who can play the guitar and sings great because I want to make this a physical thing. Gah!

It’s been a few days since I last saw you
I don’t know what to say but I want my arms around you
I don’t understand why you left
Your empty trace is still on my lonely bed
There’s so much that we left unsaid
Why wouldn’t you stay, stay, stay

Here with me
Instead of fading away
I can still smell the sweet, sweet daisies in your hair,
     your hair
And if I’d asked for you to stay
Would you have said yes

It’s been a few days since I last talked to you
I don’t know what to do but I just wanna hold you
Thoughts are wandering all around
Predictions and assumptions hitting the ground
You can stay still and not make a sound
And stay, please stay

Here with me
Instead of fading away
So I can smell the sweet, sweet daisies in your hair,
     your hair
And if I ask for you to stay
What will you say

I hope you’ll stay here
And never again disappear or fade away
I’ll always be here, why don’t you stay here with me
In my arms so I can smell the sweet, sweet daisies in your hair,
     your hair
And so we’ll stay, stay here, fingers interlaced until
     the end

The song is beautiful! 😀 That’s really talented of you to attempt to write and novel AND have lyrics in them 🙂 If a guy serenaded me with this song…definitely swoon-worthy hehehe 😀

How’s your NaNoWriMo going? Good luck with it!

Thanks! It’s going alright; I recently realized that since I’ll be going out of town the last week I only have until about the 25th or the 26th. It’s really hard for me since I’m so used to just writing prose; I get bored of my stories after a while. I already feel like ending it and starting another one — maybe one that goes along with this one — and maybe writing a third one, then making the novel just a collection of prose pieces.

It’s so hard. D; On the bright side, I got further than I did last year by 10,000 words. I feel like I’ve already accomplished something with it. 🙂

Wow! I love it! It’s really awesome!

I’m writing too! I don’t want to be forward but would you mind being a second eye to my work? I don’t really have someone here I can trust to catch my errors. It would be really cool to have a writing buddy!

This is beautiful. I remember one of my dumbest dreams was to have someone write a song about me. Pretty vain too, but hey. I haven’t ever had a musical boyfriend so that’s never been possible really, but it would be a dream come true. 😛

I wish I could put music to your words, though I’m not a dude. ;D

Haha, you could if you really wanted to. :p I’d want to listen. xD
I’ve played around in my head with a tune for it, but I can’t remember the majority of the original one I came up with. D; Gr.

It’d be so nice to have a song about me, so I get where you’re coming from!
