Changing my first name has been something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. To do so in Texas, it’s $400 and requires me to petition the court,, but in addition to those two things, I also need to sort out my policophobia.

“Elizabeth Lawson” are my middle and last names, respectively.

Filters are everywhere—Instagram, Facebook, Google Photos. I can’t remove those, but it’s OK because they’re quite fun. Real-life filters, though? Bye, bye, Birdie.

I’m not one to share my goals—this is different. (I think.) I’m already in the progress of accomplishing these things.

After much consideration, I have come to the conclusion that changing from 6birds.net to janepedia.com is for the best. 6birds and I have had many memories, but I don’t feel he represents me well anymore. (Yes, 6birds is male.)

I changed my Twitter and Instagram handles to @gotjane and have never felt more alive.
